The Stiffer and more powerful version of Scarpa's Flagship Ski Touring boot, the Maestrale RS is still one of our best sellers as they offer a superb fit for lower volume feet and great skiing and touring functionality.
Now with the speed lock pro walk mode which gives rock solid ski mode and is much less likely to suffer from snow pack and ice than previous versions.
With the same Grilamid shell and cuff construction as the previous version the Maestrale RS are stiff gives superb power transmission and control but best suited to powerful skiers.
The Scarpa Maestrale RS has an excellent quality Intuition liner, these feel firm and tight on first acquaintance but with heat moulding and use the liner can give a superb fit which keeps it shape and resists packing down even with heavy use.
Similar in weight to its predecessor and with the same range of motion in walk mode, the Maestrale RS still skis and tours very well.
For 2022, a new, more powerful friction-free Speed Lock XT ski/walk mechanism reduces flex in ski mode and eliminates issues from ice building up, while offering 60 degrees of cuff range.
They still feature the genuine Dynafit fittings and have a heel lug which is compatible with Salomon Shift, Marker Kingpin and Fritschi Tecton 12 bindings as well as all Frame and Pin Tech bindings.
So how do they fit? The shell shape and volume is the same as the previous model of the Maestrale RS. Scarpa also utilises its 3D Lambda Frame system which reduces flex in all of the key stress points that all ski boots have.
If you've had an earlier model then chances are you should be able to get a good fit from the 2022 series but if you've tried these in the past and found them too tight then you may find the same issue with this latest incarnation.
In summary the new Scarpa Maestrale RS is still the same, hugely popular touring boot. Ideal for powerful skiers who ski hard and use bigger skis.
